Smokefree England have never been more popular and the evidence of the health benefits never more convincing so why are a handful of MPs trying to bring the smoke back into pubs and what can you do about it. Find out more here.
The British Lung Foundation has launched a Children's Charter that aims to improve care and services for children with lung disease and the lung health of children around the UK.
The first point of the Charter focuses on the need for children to be able to enjoy a smoke free environment inside and outside the home. In order to achieve this, the BLF has launched a petition calling for smoking in cars to be banned where children under the age of 18 are present. A survey carried out by BLF on mumsnet.com found an incredible 86% support for a ban on smoking in cars when children are present.
You can show your support for the Children's Charter by signing the petition on the British Lung Foundation website.
You can also write to your MP asking them to sign Early Day Motion 214 in support of Breathe Easy Week 2010 and the Children's Charter. |
